SAN FRANCISCO, NOVEMBER 2003 - The Hybrid Vigor Institute is delighted to announce that the Institute's Final Report for its National Science Foundation-funded study on interdiscipinary research networks is now available on its website.
The report for the 18-month pilot study, titled "A Multi-Method Analysis of the Social and Technical Conditions for Interdisciplinary Collaboration," was submitted to the NSF's Biocomplexity in the Environment program at the end of September by Diana Rhoten, Ph.D., Principal Investigator for the study and a Hybrid Vigor Research Fellow.
The overview and full report can be downloaded here.
As both principal investigator and field researcher for the study, Dr. Rhoten has delivered the first social network analysis of interdisciplinary research centers, and one of a very few known empirical studies delivering actual data on interdisciplinary research in vivo.
We encourage you to circulate this announcement to others who may be interested in this work. We request, however, you do not cite the material presented in the report without permission. If you are interested in referencing the report or its findings, please contact Dr. Rhoten directly.
